The workplace

The workplace is a three story cafe located at the distant end of Lorimer street. Icy winds freeze the city to bones , but The workplace remains a cosy haven of warmth and comfort. An old derelict building covered with moss and ivy looks like a Spooksville haunted mansion .Rising mist smothers the vision of the tower chimney like a shroud. The high pinnacled roof is a curious mix of residential and ecclesiastical architecture- complete with a terrace and a steeple!

It becomes the hub of humming activity in the evenings and late nights when all the bachelors of the town descend on it like a swarm of locusts .There are different kinds of visitors to the place. Some are almost permanent residents, some temporary , some weekly visitors and some specialise in one night stands.

The rates are low and the need has existed since time immemorial.Man is a social animal, he needs to be with people. That is why The workplace came up ,employing 60 to serve a much greater number during a day( and ofcourse by the night). The visitors generally go back pleased and come back more often.

What have you been thinking? The workplace is an old building attempting to quench a natural need but uses the latest innovations and technology.

hmmmmmmmm.I can hear your brain ticking. No the workplace has no women employees.

It is a cyber cafe serving man's eternal need to communicate and connect with more and more.. people through the internet- email, IM, chat sites and what not.Lorimer street boasts of the only place in town to have 25 web cams which can let you be seen while chatting to whom you want to see you.Men , mostly the student body of this City of universities swarm this place , and will continue to do so .Amen.
